pol101 analysis to the questionnaire

  • Answer the question. Seriously. I am not asking for a compilation of information (the textbook already did that) I will evaluate your analysis. Not answering the question will give you a failing grade.
  • Do not copy and paste from the textbook. Analyze. Do not use more than two direct quotes. Your direct quotes must be just one line in lenght.
  • You must submit your answers on Blackboard these papers should be double-spaced, 12-pt. Times New Roman font. I am expecting at least two pages per answer. One page and a half do not count as two pages. If you write less than two pages, your paper will receive a deduction of 5% per page. You can write up to five pages per question.
  • At the top of the page just write your name and the question you are answering. I want you to use all of the space for your paper, not for other kind of information.
  • You do not need to hand in a hard copy. Any reading report uploaded after midnight of the due date will count as late. You will find the late paper policies on the syllabus. It is your responsibility to upload the paper and to keep the receipt from the system proving that.

*First Questionnaire due date: Oct.7

After carefully reading the information from Chapter 5 (pp. 73-106) and using the chapters we have read so farplease answer two of the three questions you will find on page 73:

  • How are the precolonial and colonial experiences of these countries similar? How do they differ? (these count as a single question)
  • How did these countries attempt to free themselves form Western domination, and why were some struggles less peaceful than others?
  • Since independence, what kinds of problems have these countries experienced, and how have they approached these problems?

You must compare four different countries on your paper and provide clear arguments and examples. You can compare two countries for one question and two different countries for the other one. Or you can compare four contexts to answer each of your questions.
