The case demonstrates how a brand was created that actually helps save lives! Global Handwashing Day has motivated more than 200 million people in more than 100 countries. It’s a great example of “Making a Difference,” a topic addressed on pages 72-3 of our textbook. Review the case from your own perspective after reading the Brand Dynamics chapter of our textbook. Comment on the importance of brands making a difference. Address the branding of a “cause” (for example, the Heart Association). Also address the branding of a consumer brand that is also making a difference (for example TOMS “one-for-one” campaign).
