This assignment is designed to have you conduct library-based research focused on leadership in a global context.

The product of this research will be a paper that discusses leadership styles and/or leadership models suitable to or predictive of success in entering a new international location and beginning organizational operations.

Your organizational operations are to address one of the following topical areas. Please note that what appears in parentheses are only examples of possible research directions):

1) Education (e.g., youth education of a formal nature [i.e., a parallel to K-12 education in the U.S. and most other developed countries])

2) Health Services or Health Promotion (e.g., implementing programs to enhance child health or women’s health)

3) Environmental Protection (e.g., promoting environmental sustainability within a developing country)

4) Manufacturing (e.g., opening a business/manufacturing facility)

5) Social or Human Services (e.g., improving the welfare of the population or a specific group within the population)

6) Crime management (e.g., establishing a police force, court system or correctional/penal system)

Once you select one of the above topical areas you may certainly narrow your focus but you must not lose sight of the objective here: How does one best demonstrate leadership given the topical area and the global location or type of place you are entering. Above, I mentioned “organizational operations”. The type of organizational operation you aim to establish and start-up is entirely up to you but it must be conceptually related to one of the above numbered areas. Your “organizational operation” may be non-profit, for-profit, faith-based or secular, or it may relate to a governmental or private-sector initiative.

I am expecting an APA formatted paper (cover page, executive summary, table of contents, double-spaced typed work, and references {no less than 10 sources from reputable published work that includes peer-review/scholarly work}) between 10-12 pages of content (not including cover page, executive summary, table of contents and references).
