Topic name: Disaster detection and prevention (e.g. tsunamis, hurricanes), this is the topic

Directions:

1. Find a graphic that shows some aspect of the technology of your topic that interests you.

Provide a descriptive figure title and cite the graphic using IEEE style. Note: Photographs, tables,

schematics, diagrams and other non-photographic graphics are acceptable. Ensure the graphic

in your assignment is of high quality, which supports effective communication. Ensure it is also

integrated into the document.

2. Explore different sources of information on your team’s research topic and select two additional

sources that you believe will be useful for your research report.

3. Write 2-4 paragraphs that describe the illustration, why you chose it (including how it relates to

your topic), and a brief description of the technology – including society’s need for this

technology. Provide enough information that the reader will understand the significance of the

technology in terms of its social benefit.

4. Cite all three sources in the text, and document all three sources in a reference list (using IEEE).

For this assignment, you are limited to these three sources only.

Include a title page with all relevant information: assignment title, your name and team #,

course information, date of submission

Paginate the document using Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3) starting after the title page

Maintain a 1” (2.54 cm) margin on all sides, use a 12-point font, and 1.5 line spacing throughout
