Essay: Poetry Analysis

Assignment: You will create a Poetry Analysis. You have read a few poems select three poems from chapters 15-21（I will show u pictures of these chapters, you can find the poems online and select 3 what u want) which I will show you pictures and write an analysis on each.

Purpose:

Select your poems from the chapters. To help you develop your analysis answer the questions below based on your selected poems. Make sure to provide appropriate examples to support your ideas and explain your answers clearly.

Questions:

1.Summarize the poem. What is it about?2.Explain the purpose of this poem. Why did the author write it?3.Identify the type of poetry this poem falls into.4.Does this poem have a rhyme scheme? If so, what is it?5.Identify, give examples, and explain three literary techniques in the poem. Example:alliteration, simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, etc.

Specifics:

• 1-3 typed, double-spaced pages (1000 words)
• At least three paragraphs (intro, body, conclusion)
• MLA format (heading, header, font, size, etc.)
