iCARE Paper

Purpose

The purpose of the iCARE Paper assignment is to explore the concept of interprofessional teams and patient outcomes. Nursing supportive actions of compassion, advocacy, resilience, and evidence-based practice will serve as a way to apply care concepts.

Directions

Getting Started: Interprofessional teams are part of practice trends we see developing in all aspects of care delivery. Consider you own work environment (or recent clinical setting).

· For this assignment, consider the concept of interprofessional teamwork and patient outcomes.

· Look to your current workplace as an example. (If you are not currently employed, look to a past workplace or clinical practice area.)

· Apply the components of the iCARE concept to interprofessional teams in a short paper. (Body of the paper to be 3 pages, excluding the title page and references page)

· iCARE components are:

C ompassion

A dvocacy

R esilience

E vidence-Based Practice (EBP)

· How could you contribute to an interprofessional team and patient outcomes through nursing actions of: compassion, advocacy, resilience, and evidence-based practice?

· Select one scholarly nursing article from CINAHL as a resource for your paper. Additional scholarly sources can be used but are optional.

· Use APA format throughout, particularly in citations and on the References page.

· Please paraphrase throughout. One short quote is permitted.

· The prepared paper template is RECOMMENDED for this assignment.

·

Global Events Paper

Write a 5–6 page, APA-formatted report that explains the responses to a global event, how issues of race, class, and gender may have affected the response, and the role of international and altruistic organizations in providing health care services related to the event. Describe barriers to receiving health care services related to the event, and explain the role of the professional nurse in providing health care services related to the global event.

  Preparation

Suppose that within your health care organization there is no formal process or structure for health care professionals to volunteer time and services in times of global need. You would like to develop a proposal for establishing a process that would allow nurses and other health care professionals to secure time off to work with a specific worldwide organization, to provide health care services during global events. As part of the proposal, you would need to provide background research to support your request.

Conduct background research on either one of the following to support the proposal you would develop: Choose one worldwide epidemic, such as the 2009 flu pandemic, 2009 mumps outbreak, 2012 Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus outbreak, the recent Ebola virus epidemic, or another epidemic. Research articles that focus on how the initial outbreak was handled; the role of social attitudes and issues of race, class, and gender in responding to the outbreak; barriers to people receiving proper health care; and the role of nursing in providing health care services related to the epidemic. Choose one natural disaster, such as the earthquakes in Haiti, Pakistan, or Nepal; Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar; the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, or any other natural disaster that brought a worldwide response. Research articles that focus on the initial response to the disaster; the role of social attitudes and issues of race, class, and gender in responding to the disaster; barriers to survivors receiving health care; and the role of nursing in providing health care services related to the disaster. Requirements

For this assessment, develop background research that would support a proposal for an organizational process allowing health care professionals to volunteer time and services when global events happen. First, identify the global event you will be using in your research, and then: Explain how the local and national (meaning the nation in which the event took place) communities responded to the event. Who responded? How long did the first response take? How did health care providers respond? Explain how social attitudes, as well as issues of race, class, gender, or other factors may have influenced the response to the event. Be sure you consider not only the response of the home country, but the global response as well. Describe barriers to health care services for the people impacted by the event. Some barriers may be obvious, and other barriers less obvious; try to consider multiple aspects. Explain the role of international health organizations and altruistic organizations in providing health care services related to the global event. Explain the role of the professional nurse in providing health care services related to the global event. Consider scope of practice when working professionally out of one’s area of license—either nationally or globally. Additional Requirements

Complete your assessment using the following specifications: Title page and reference page. Number of pages: 5–6 (not  including the title and reference pages). At least 4 current scholarly or professional resources. APA format for the entire document, including citations and references. Times New Roman font, 12-point, double-spaced.

Course work assignment: Herpes Zoster/Shingles

 Hello writer,

For my course work, I was assigned a topic: Herpes Zoster/Shingles. The following are the questions that I need to answer for my grades. Work has to be in APA format, 1-2 references. Word Document. Population most affected (ex: Older Adults, Middle Adults, Young Adults, Teenagers, Child, Infants) Age related milestone for your chosen population Socio-Demographic/Risk factors for getting the disease/condition Impact on QOL Current/new/recent research/EBP that will benefit/support this patient with the specific disease (If there are none please state so) Recommendation for treatment or Gold standards for treatment if any (can be tied into the current research as above) (If there are no gold standards then please state so, but there should be some recommendations) Please tell what/how you (speak in the first person) as the FNP caring for this patient with this specific disease can make a difference in his/her care and incorporate patient care/self-help teaching that can help him/her minimize disease symptoms. Red flags for this condition (what specific S/S require urgent/ER care) or when should you refer patient to specialist.

LEVEL ONE: Interpersonal Communication

LEVEL ONE: Interpersonal Communication

This quarter you will have a Communication Practicum Project which will last all six weeks. The project will start this week. Students will work on practical application of their learning through application and analysis of a single movie from the last 50 years.

The choice of the movie(american movie) is up to the student and cannot be changed after turning in the first “Level” assignment. The practicum concept is one where you the student will build on each week of work. Imagine a video game like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, or even the Legend of Zelda. Each level brings you to new challenges, culminating to a final level.

The final level in the Practicum Project will be finalized in week five. You will use a screen recording tool, such as Screencast-O-Matic, and PowerPoint. Screencast-O-Matic is a free tool.

LEVEL ONE: Pick a movie (american movie) and watch it, then using PowerPoint create a short presentation describing elements which you learned from this week’s lesson:

  1. Introduce the setting, plot, and the main characters of the movie?
  2. Find three elements concerning the characteristics of communication from your text and course notes and apply them to the movie, make sure you cite your source(s) using APA.

word-picture (about 100 words)

  Exercise #1: The “Word-Picture”

Your recent work in reading essays should have demonstrated to you the importance of a reading process that is active, and it should have reaffirmed the rigorous demands of good, clean writing. In this next writing sequence, you will extend the active reading process to a different kind of text: a visual object such as a painting, a sculpture, or a photograph that represents one of the themes that you observe.  You can discover this visual object from your life, your readings, and even your viewings of media, but it must have meaning to you.

â–ºCreate a wordpicture of a visual object so that readers can see the object through your words. Select a visual object such as a painting, a sculpture, or a photograph that interests you or triggers a strong response within you.  (Choose carefully – you will be working with this art object for the next month.)  Describe only what you perceive so that others who do not have access to the object can see it too; that is, do not mention names and historical dates.

Manuscript Notes: Try to keep your word-picture as short as possible (about 100 words) without sacrificing precision; produce something more evocative than a laundry list of features.

you should describe a picture  without say the name of things that you describe.and sent me the picture and it should related to V for Vendetta.
